Introduction to the class
n addition to our 200 Teacher Training Program , Rishikesh Yog Kendra also offers drop in classes at our school. The class starts from the Mantra Chanting which will help the students to connect spiritually in their yogic practice. The class is build up in such a way where beginners can build a solid form and experienced students will refine their practice. Students have to book their slot in advance to avoid last minute hassle. The class will be conduct in morning and evening, following are the timings of the classes. Morning : 7am-9am and evening 5pm-7pm from Monday to Saturday. Sunday Closed.
Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga recorded by the sage Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta, an ancient manuscript ‘said to contain lists of many different groupings of asanas ‘, as well as highly teachings of vinayasa, drishti,bandhas , mudras and philosophy. The test of the Yog Korunta was imparted to Sri T. Krishnamacharya in the early of 1900’s by his guru Ram Mohan Brahmachari and was passed down to Patabhi Jois during the duration of their studies with Krishnamacharyan in the beginning of 1927.In Mysore style students learn the fixed order of asanas combining movement with free breathing sound. Through Vinayasa , there is continuity via with breath from asanas to asanas. In the Ashtanga sequence ,each asana builds from the previous and prepares from successive asanas.
The Popular style that links up between breath and movement. It is also known as flow because of the smooth way of poses run together, is one of the most popular style of yoga. It’s a combination of Ashtanga and Power Yoga. Vinayasa stands in opposition to Hatha Yoga. In Vinyasa , each movement is synchronized with the breath.
Hatha Yoga is the branch of yoga emphasizes on physical exercises to master the body along with mind exercises to withdraw it from external objects. The word ‘Hatha’ is derived from Hindi word “Ha” means Surya or Pingla Nadi and “Tha” means Moon or Ida Nadi. The combination and activation of these two system leads to Hatha Yoga. The Hatha Yoga practice leads to proper diet, processes to internally purify the body , proper breathing and its regulation practically during the yoga practice.
Yin Yoga was developed to penetrate deep into the connective tissue which expands the flexibility in asanas. Yin helps to go deeper in practice , the long and steady bready during asanas helps the practitioner to go more relax in asanas. For beginner the hold is from 45 seconds to 2 minutes and for advanced practitioner it is from 5 minutes to 7 minutes.
